Sarah’s top fundraising tips are:

1) Hold a bake off – With Easter fast approaching you ask work colleagues to enter a bake off competition by baking easter themed cakes or biscuits. They then pay £3 to enter their cake. Those who arent quite so talented in the kitchen pay £3 to eat slices from all the cakes and score them. I bought a small easter egg for the winner and managed to raise £120.

2) Hold a charity speed dating event – this week I am holding a speed dating event at a local bar. They gave me the room for free as its for charity and I charged £6 per ticket to take part. I persuaded a friend to DJ after the event and I have sold tickets for coming to see the music set at half price. I have 16 speed dating couples and therefore I am looking to raise over £200 from this one event.

3) Speak to your local supermarket – offer to pack bags at the checkouts for one day and persuade some friends and family to help out. Ask people to make a donation for packing their bags.
