personal message
Get your message layout right
It makes a real difference to a JustGiving page when the story - the big personal message near the top of the page - is laid out clearly.
Make the most of spacing, bolding and different coloured text to increase the strength of your message. It sounds simple, but it’s really important.
Check out two good examples here: www.justgiving.com/Ross-Evans and www.justgiving.com/24hrs_100miles

Margot Lieber
http://www.justgiving.com/margotlieber
Margot’s running the London marathon for Children in Crisis, which works to bring education, health and protection to children around the world in areas of conflict, deprivation and poverty.
The lovely personal message on her Justgiving page tells the story of how she’s progressed from novice runner to the first long run of her training. It also explains exactly why she’s chosen to support this charity and why it’s such an important cause.

Lesley Kober
http://www.justgiving.com/ivelostmymarbles
If anyone finds Lesley’s marbles, please can they return them to her by 26th April? That’s the plea on Lesley’s Justgiving page.
She’s running the London marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support, and in memory of three people who have played very important parts in her life: her sister Jan, her sister’s partner Bob and her dad.
We love the heartfelt message on Lesley’s page and her great Justgiving URL too.

Mike Wells
Mike’s running for Motor Neurone Disease Association, having had personal experience of the help they provide.
His brother Dave is suffering from MND and Mike wants to give something back to the cause that has helped Dave and his family so much.
He’s got a great, heartfelt personal message on his page and he’s already updated it with a thank-you message too.
Mike also has a namesake and fellow marathon runner here at Justgiving.

Loui Batley
You might have seen Loui on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks (playing Sarah Barnes) but you won’t have seen her running a marathon before - until this year.
She’s determined to make the 26.2 miles and is starting to drum up support through her Justgiving page with the help of a fun and heartfelt personal message.
She’ll be joined in this year’s London marathon by Simon Lawson, who’s also appeared in Hollyoaks, and you can check out his page here: www.justgiving.com/simonjlawson
