Include your JustGiving link in your e-mail signature
Liz Baxter wrote to say include your JustGiving link in your e-mail signature along with a short message about what you’re doing.
For example, Liz is trekking the Inca Trail in South America to raise money for Kent Kids Miles of Smiles, which provides both residential and respite care for sick and disabled young people from Kent. So Liz’s message could read:
I’m trekking the Inca Trail in aid of Kent Kids Miles of Smiles. Sponsor me here: www.justgiving.com/liz-baxter
The message needn’t be any longer than that. There’s just enough information to pique people’s interest and get them to click on your link where they can read more.

1. Write a really interesting personal message - turn it into a story. What will encourage your friends/family/strangers to donate? What would make you donate?
2. Email people in groups so you can tailor your message. Get generous donations on your page first. Send the email on/before pay day!
3. Promote your page online with social media tools like Twitter, MySpace/ LinkedIn/ Facebook (use our Facebook app, status updates, groups or notes)
4. Put your JustGiving page web address in your email signature, so everyone you email has a chance to visit your page and make a donation.
5. Give out cards with your JustGiving page web address on them - try www.moo.com - their minicards and business cards are great!
6. Put a video and extra photos on your page. Keep it up to date so it's interesting for people to come back and find out how you're getting on, or send it to their friends.
7. Talk to your charity to ask for info on their work and what your supporters' donations will go towards.
8. Contact your local paper/radio station - send them a press release with your JustGiving web address so people can donate. Ask your company to put your page in their website/intranet.
9. Send fun reminder emails to people, to nudge them to donate. Keep fundraising after the event!
10. Remember to thank people - do it on your JustGiving page, in an email, with a card, on your blog/ Facebook/ Twitter - make them feel good for supporting you!
