  • Simon Frost says:

Follow the principles of RICE first: Rest, Ice, Compression, elevation. Then take 1-2 weeks off depending on the severity of your injury.

After that try a 10-minute run and if the injury still presents itself, take another weeks’ rest.

Alternatively, see a physiotherapist to isolate the injury and learn some exercises which will help your body stay toned whilst your injury heals.

Definitely listen to your body - get a good physio and do what he says! If it’s rest that’s prescribed you just have to try to stay busy so you don’t go stir crazy or eat too much :-) Above all don’t lose heart you will get better. I’m back on the road after 9 weeks off with a torn gastrocnemius (calf) and it’s great to be back, NY Here I come!!
