Follow the principles of RICE first: Rest, Ice, Compression, elevation. Then take 1-2 weeks off depending on the severity of your injury.
After that try a 10-minute run and if the injury still presents itself, take another weeks’ rest.
Alternatively, see a physiotherapist to isolate the injury and learn some exercises which will help your body stay toned whilst your injury heals.
Definitely listen to your body - get a good physio and do what he says! If it’s rest that’s prescribed you just have to try to stay busy so you don’t go stir crazy or eat too much
Above all don’t lose heart you will get better. I’m back on the road after 9 weeks off with a torn gastrocnemius (calf) and it’s great to be back, NY Here I come!!
