I prefer to run alone when I am trying to improve my personal best, but with a buddy when I am just running for fitness. I find having a friend there makes the run more fun, but slower!
I mostly run alone and that is fine, once a week I run with a colleague and I really enjoy that. A group is good too, so my answer is all three buddy and group are good to push you forward.
I enjoy running alone as I don’t have any one to run or walk with me. So now I have got so used to training by myself either by running, walking and going to gym four to five times a week. I enjoy doing one long run of 18 miles once a week and then I do about 7 miles three times a week as well as my gym and with various walks in between. If anyone is willing to join me I will be quite happy. By doing all this it does keep me fit and keeps me out of mischief when I am not working or I do this after work.

I’ve never run with another person. I prefer the freedom to set my own pace or take a walking break when I need one.
That’s not to say I’d never run with another person – I’m perfectly willing to try it if anyone volunteers – but I never have done.
