4 reason why I run :-
!. When I run first thing in the morning I’m out before most of the human world, and so I get a glimse sometimes of the animal world - deer, foxes etc. I don’t do ipod music as I like to hear ‘au natural’ world around me.
2. I take the dog who gets a daily good dose of exercise.
3. I get my exercise out of the way before a shower and feel invigorated by the time I drop the kids at school and ready to face the challenges of the day ahead.
4. I get to have my only half hour of the day where I have no one wanting my attention and there are no phones ringing distracting me from my train of thought. I can drift into blue sky thinking which is great! My husband and I have a decorative sandblasting business and quite often have manufacturing issues I need to resolve, and a time when to new design concepts come easliy for new projects I’m working on.
“Go on give it a go it does wonders for me”.
This september my 2 sisters, a friend and I are going to do the Monster Challenge, a relay run and cycle around Loch Ness. Claire and Belinda have only just taking running up for this event, Gillian has been running for the last year or so, and I have been running daily for several years now. But earlier this year damaged my back from lifting at work which is still causing me problems, after visits to a chiropractor, and then accupuncture with an Osteopath I am much better but by no means cured. I’ve decided to go ahead as planned with the event and book my flights to the Highlands of scotland in the hope that I am going to be fit for the race. Claire is involved with a charity which we are going to be raising money for. Visit our website to see/hear about our training progress and pledge some money or sponsor us and see if we can do the challenge!! http://www.justgiving.com/Team-MacDonut/
Get a buzz from a good session, comfort from not knowing that every session has to be hard and sense of achievement when I notice improvements in me or my running.
I’ve signed up for a marathon at Loch Ness in October, not sure I know what I’ve let myself in for, but it’s another layer of motivation because I can only imagine the world of hurt I’ll feel if I don’t train enough.
