Can you guess our fastest donation?
We’ve had a little office competition to make the fastest donation through the new JustGiving site.
If you can guess our record time, we’ll make a £100 donation on your page or to your favourite charity.
Just give us your opinion on the new site and add your guess at the end…
I think it is 21 seconds.
Great new style website, much more modern - well done!
Hi, glad to see a more “Web 2.0″ look on the site even if it is stopping me from being able to log in to my account (grrrr). I just sent an email to everyone to check out my new look page and a few replied saying they got an error asking them to call the JG helpdesk. Seems to be OK now but I hope it didn’t cost me any donations. Also, what happened to my flickr feed?
I’m sure they are just a few bugs that will be ironed out soon, I am really loving the new look.
I have faith in the JustGiving office and think the quickest donation was made in 16 seconds
Hi Thom
Thanks for your feedback and I’m really sorry you’ve had problems logging in. It’s an issue that we know about, we’re working on it now and expect to have it fixed by tomorrow. In the meantime, please try refreshing your browser cache and cookie settings and try logging in again: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cookies If you’re still having problems tomorrow, please get in touch.
We’ve removed the Flickr functionality because such a minority of people were using it – people wanted to be able to upload their photos without using Flickr. So we’ve given you the ability to add up to ten photos to your page and they appear bigger so they’re easier for people to see.
If you’d like to add your previous Flickr photos to your page again, just make sure they’re saved on your computer and follow these steps:
1. Click on Your account and log in
2. Click on Your pages
3. Click on the title of the page you want to change
4. Click on Edit your page
5. Click on Manage photos
6. Click on Browse and find the image you want to use
7. Click on Upload
8. Wait while your image is uploaded (it can take up to two minutes)
Thanks for bearing with us while we sort out the teething problems and glad you like the new site.
Sophie
Thanks for the reply, deleting the cookies didn’t work so I will try again tomorrow.
One other thing, I don’t get what the new logo is supposed to be. It reminds me of either a sunset or a beer bottle top. On a grapical side it doesn’t really scream charity or donations or anything. The favicon doesn’t have transparent corners so it looks out of place and blurry on my favorites/bookmark bar. Maybe it would look better if the “donation total” on my fundraising page was only coloured/filled in relative to the amount I had raised. This would correlate with the logo more I suppose?
Sometime next week by the state of the current mess…..Wouldnt take a donation a couple of minutes ago so no point in trying to persuade others to do so until its fixed. Very frustrating and annoying!
Dear Thom and Steve
I’m really sorry about the continuing problems logging in, and donating, yesterday. It seems that although not everyone is affected, some people still are, and we know it’s infuriating.
We’ve been working on these things overnight and expect to have an update for you today. Please keep checking http://blog.justgiving.com for the latest news and help.
As for your design feedback, Liz, who has been involved in the redesign, is going to post some more explanation about the new design on the blog later today.

Hi again Thom
Here’s a bit more from our designer, Will:
Dear Thom,
Thanks for your comment. We have put lots of work into the new design, and as I’m sure you’re aware it’s impossible to please everyone all of the time. As designers we have worked hard trying to move from the old start-up style “justgiving” to the more mature, experienced website that we are. We believe that we have communicated that with a strong font (unique to us) and an iconic symbol that represents the thermometer. To achieve an iconic symbol, it needs to make people think, so if it were to be a real representation of a thermometer, it wouldn’t have that effect. It’s only natural that people will see different things in our new logo and we believe that it’s the right logo for us.
As for the favicon, IE doesn’t support .pngs, only .icos, so having a transparent edge to the design isn’t possible at the moment. We will be trying to fix that in some of the next iterations of the site though.
Thanks for all your feedback.
Will Colley”
